It's a just a *little* busy with Grandparents Day on Thursday + Easter Break just around the corner (a little!?!), but don't forget to turn in your RSVP for April 30th Springtime in Paris gala event in San Francisco.

Invitations were mailed in March. Lost yours? Call the Development Office at (415) 258-1931 for a replacement, or RSVP on the phone.

Don't know who to sit with? Just put your child's grade on the back of the card!

Ticket prices go up after April 1st, so don't delay! Walk it in, leave it at the reception desk, send it via student delivery, put an old-school stamp on it...but send it in! This is a great evening for the San Domenico community, and you don't want to miss it.

Truth...
Attendees dress in everything from jeans to gowns. Wear what makes you comfortable. Chanel or Levis-It doesn't matter what you wear as long as you are there! Respondez S'il Vous Plait SOON-tickets are going fast and this event will sell out!!!
Myth # 2
"Everything so expensive, there is nothing in my price range."

There will be items in all price ranges from as low as $25 to as high as you want to go. The Online Auction opens on April 14 th!

Myth # 3
"I haven't been asked to sit at a table"

Truth...
You can arrange your own table or the Party Committee has a person in charge of table seating and she will do her best to sit you with your class or your division.

Myth # 4
"The live auction is too long"

We have shortened the live auction this year and added a dessert bar, so you can dance sooner and choose from a delectable array of desserts donated by local Artisan bakers from Marin!

"I can't find a babysitter"

A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have come forward with fabulous donations...from vacation homes to fun sign up parties and everything in between! We have gotten some REALLY EXCITING ITEMS and the success of this auction will be a true community effort!
So, here it is, folks...the final call for donations:
· *Do you have Giants, Warriors, or 49ers tickets you could donate?
· * Have you asked your child's favorite camp or activity for a donation?
· * Do you have an idea for a fun sign up party...it doesn't have to be fancy or complicated, just something interesting to get parents or children together for some fun and to support the school?
· * What about asking your favorite ski resort for tickets or a stay at the lodge?
· * Do you have some fabulous wine you'd like to share?
· * Do you have any contacts in the restaurant business (particularly French restaurants)?
· * Have you shared your favorite local business with the SD community by asking for a donation?

Get Your Dancing Shoes Ready!

The Jules Broussard Band will be playing on March 14th and April 11th at 19 Broadway in Fairfax and it is FREE!

We are lucky to have Jules and the Band playing for us at our fundraiser coming up on April 30th at the Julia Morgan Ballroom. Remember way back in the early Nineties, Jules used to play at Pier 23 in the City on sunny Sunday afternoons. Lots of Fun & Frivolity & Fabulous music! Oh, those were the days (before kids)! Looking forward to a great party!

This is just a sneak preview of the Special Movie Themed Class Cases that we will be offering this year. Thanks to The Jamasbi and Weldon Families, as well as an Anonmous Family, for donating Coppola wines from their cellars and autographed by Francis, himself! The Blue Ray disc of "The Godfather" is included in the purchase, too! Look out, Nicole Suckle says the other grades have their own movie cases in the works, some offering sequels, too! Welcome San Domenico Community to a New Decade! As January has quickly come to a close, we are quickly approaching our fabulous Annual Parent Fundraiser, Springtime in Paris. It will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at The Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco! My name is Lisa Hines and I am Chairing the fundraiser this year along with a vibrant cast of volunteers! This is our family's second year at San Domenico, with Milan in Kindergarden and Luca starting in PreK next Fall. Our family lives in Point Richmond, but since my husband, Jeff, and I both have local businesses in Marin, San Domenico was an obvious choice for our children's education. I am excited to be part of such a wonderful community of people who encompass San Domenico! All proceeds of this event will fund faculty professional development opportunities, tuition assistance, and program enhancements, including equiptment and materials. These restricted gifts support excellence in teaching and academic instruction.

This year was one of change. Most people don't like it, but it is necessary. San Domenico is a leader in sustainability, so we decided to go Green and send our Fundraising Package to you online. We know that another email from school may drive you crazy, but it is better than adding another piece of paper to that pile on your desk! Do you have a Pied-a-Terre in Paris or a connection at a local winery? Any and all donations are happily accepted! Cynthia Weldon and Sarah Barron are our fantastic Solicitation Co-Chairs this year and they will happily guide you to the easiest way to donate, whether it be online or if you prefer a hard copy, print one off the website and take it with you to your favorite restaurant to donate! This blog is intended to be a go-to-guide to get information about all aspects of the Fundraiser. We will update weekly to keep you informed!

On the light side, this will be a great party! Reserve that babysitter, buy a new dress and get out your dancing shoes!
